Case studies

A company selling sports supplements online is preparing a collection of sportswear for men. The order involves preparing the following clothing models for production in a contract sewing workshop: a hooded sports sweatshirt, a long-sleeved O-neck sweatshirt, a men’s T-shirt, chino trousers, five-pocket trousers, and sweatpants with cuffs. Tasks completed as part of this order:

Construction of templates in base size M based on designs provided by the customer
Sewing of patterns in base size M
Sizing in the range XS – XXXL
Preparation of calculations of cut and uncut material consumption for each model
Preparation of cutting layouts for production in a contract sewing workshop based on the quantity requirements provided by the customer in the form of templates.

The company won a tender for the production of clothing for public transport employees. The requirement
of the Ordering Party is for the Contractor to present sewn clothing designs in accordance with
the Terms of Reference. These are a men’s ‘Swedish’ jacket and men’s trousers.
In addition, the Contractor must submit the results of laboratory tests of the main fabric and lining,
which confirm compliance with the requirements of the Terms of Reference.
The order consists of making samples and organising material testing for the Contractor in
an accredited laboratory.
Tasks performed as part of this order:

Preparation of designs and templates in the size required by the Ordering Party
Sewing of clothing designs in the size required by the Ordering Party – men’s jacket of the ‘Swedish’ type and men’s trousers.
Grading of the above clothing sizes according to the tables provided by the Ordering Party in the Terms of Reference.
Organising laboratory testing of materials and obtaining reports confirming compliance with the required parameters (colour fastness, resistance to peeling, resistance to stretching).

An English fashion designer has designed a collection of men’s shirts for a certain subculture. He has decided that
the shirts will be manufactured in Poland. Therefore, he has commissioned the preparation of patterns for his
designs and supervision, culminating in final acceptance before shipment.
Tasks performed as part of this order:

Final acceptance – preparation of reports for the Ordering Party.
Preparation of designs for 12 shirt models based on the designs.
Supervision of the production of prototypes sewn by the sewing room, which will later carry out production. Obtaining approval of the prototypes by the author of the designs.
Grading of all models in the ordered sizes.
Preparation of calculations of material and accessory consumption per 1 piece per model.
Preparation of cutting layouts according to the quantity requirements provided.
Supervision of production in the sewing workshop – preparation of reports for the Ordering Party.
